Immunocompromised patients are at higher risk for developing perianal and distal rectal infections. ProGene is a comprehensive test to identify a wide range of organisms causing perianal and rectal infections primarily occurring in immunocompromised patients. ProGene identifies both sexually and non-sexually acquired infections. This unique panel is a companion to the GynecoloGene test used to identify a variety of infections affecting women. The panel uses a proprietary process developed by scientists at Granger Genetics. Work from this panel has been presented at International Scientific Meetings and published in peer reviewed journals.
